Hello,
By accident I’ve deleted task bar ( I don’t know if thats how you call it ) one at the bottom of the screen. Now I have no idea how to bring it back.
You mean, the entire panel, with clock, pager, systray etc.? Can be recovered…in a sort of rude way, but it will work:
If you use autologin, logon to the desktop as usual, if you don’t do the next at the login screen.
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1 (simultaneously), you’ll see the console.
Login with username and password.
Do this:
su -c 'init 3'
(enter rootpassword, this brings the system to runlevel 3, that stops the X-server, thus the desktop)
rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasm*
(This removes the stored settings for the desktop appearance. Not your application settings.)
su -c 'init 5 && exit'
(enter root password. This brings the system to runlevel 5, which starts the X-server and, in case of autologin, the desktop, otherwise the login screen.)
Now log back in on the KDE desktop, and you will see the default appearance, incl. panel with pager, task manager, clock, systray etc. From there on you can reapply your personalized settings.
I tried that already but question about default panel doesn’t display to me. After I choose “Add Panel” option it just displays me small panel without any icons or anything.
Thanks a lot ~Knurpht it did the trick.
I think there are few slides missing. I can olny view the first three of the five slides.
To starach:

In KDE 4.5 there is the option to create a new default panel. Right-click on the desktop, unlock widgets, then right-click again and there is the sub-menu ‘Add Panel’ which offers the choice between a default or an empty panel. But I don’t know if that is in KDE 4.4.4.
If it is not in KDE 4.4.4., you can simply try to create a new panel. If you have no panel at all, you should be promted with the question if you would like to create a default panel. (This is what I think caf4926’s missing(?) slides would show.)
Or you could just create your own panel, and stuff it with widgets of your own choice …
All 5 are there for me

Could easily have something to do with my cookies etc. If they show for everybody else, it is fine I guess.
Ah, I see. It works in Konqueror.
