KDE bug reports

What is the appropriate mechanism for reporting
bugs in KDE?

i’m not saying you are wrong, but are there not things done by the
openSUSE team when they incorporated KDE into the framework…i mean i
have read several places that openSUSE’s implementation of KDE is far
better than a more “vanilla” KDE shipped with other distros… [a fact
(?) i haven’t checked myself]…

if such exists then the bug could be in openSUSE code, and
therefore, unless a bug is absolutely known to NOT be an openSUSE
injected problem it should be reported here first:
http://en.opensuse.org/Submitting_Bug_Reports

and then, if the openSUSE developers see that it is in the vanilla KDE
code, they will automatically send it upstream, to kde.org

i think! i know i could be wrong and await someone with perfect
knowledge to set the record correct…

Yes, i am aware of that, that many bugs are related to distro rather KDE itself. But one can’t deny that KDE itself also have.
This is quite tricky here, to where post the bug report in terms of implementation.

We send specific KDE bugs to openSUSE team and wait for them to forward them to KDE, not sure that makes any sense.
But yeh you are right, wait for some one with more knowlegde to clear the sky here.

I just answered the OP question in short line about KDE bugs. But that depends on the bug, it could be the distro code.

I would have thought that the repo source is an important factor. If it’s from an openSUSE repo why not report it on Novell’s bugzilla? The choice then becomes 11.3 (and other currently supported 11.x), or Factory (11.4). I would have thought the dev’s would be interested in any KDE 4.4.4 or 4.5.x bugs, against the correct base selection. Just my own view though.
