I found the biggest caveat on Kde to be the implementation of the autohiding “thingie” to control the plasmoids and the “lock widgets” step you have to take if you want them to dissapear(so every time you configure something you have to unlock);and the Configure Desktop(System Settings) convoluted implementation;enyone here has other Kde annoyances?There are much more,but these are the most annoying for me!If you would change something in Kde what would it be?
You can avoid these annoyances by setting up KDE and then installing razor; you don’t get any of the annoyances but - apart from klipper and multiple keyboards - pretty well everything else works fine. It depends on your requirements.

For me those where ocassional crashes when switching activities or desktop layout from netbook to desktop and the other way around but those where only present in the eariler versions (don’t remember exactly but I believe around version 4.2). At the default version that ships with openSUSE 12.2 I cannot find anything that would annoy me.

No real problems. In fact it’s probably the best it’s ever been for me.
I maybe a bit of a strange user. I am not realy interested in al the whistles and bells (I have e.g. desktop effects switched off, do not see any use for them), but for me functionality of applications and it’s continuity in time comes first. And I do now doubt very much if my choice for Kadressbook/Kmail years ago was a good one. Kadressbook still (KDE 4.9) does not have some of the basic functionality it had under KDE 3.5. Can not get my addresses in the window in the columns I need. Main partition of my addresses in usefull grouping usng Categories (still) not possible.
Migrating Kontact through different versions.
The first user I set up doesn’t initialise properly - which means I lose a lot of functionality - when I have time, I will probably completely reinstall this user but I shouldn’t have to do this. Interestingly none of these problems have arisen on other users, one of which has more use than the first user.
Since changing to rozor, LibreOffice runs like greased lightning compared with running it under KDE.
It would be nice if Razor-qt was an install option of the official release.

From this thread and some others, I understand that one runs KDE applications with it. Is that correct?
Hm, that wouldn’t help me much, having problems with the continuity of the features of Kaddressbook (and maybe Kmail).

AFAIK you don’t have to have KDE installed but, if you have, it respects most KDE settings and offers most of the basic productivity features of KDE. I find I can do most things within Razor and, if I need one of the few things it cannot do, I revert to KDE - so far a couple of times a month.
Think of Razor as a kind of LXDE with Gtk,only this D.E.runs on Qt!
