KDE 4 toolbar question

Hello,
I am very much a novice but I am using openSuse 11 64 bit & KDE 4. Past versions I have been able to hide the tool bar at the bottom automatically. I cannot find an area that allows me to configure this, is there still one available? Thank you in advance for any answers.

do you mean the statusbar? if so, i don’t think it can be hidden, at least not from dolphin’s interface. perhaps from it’s config file.

It’s not implemented yet in the 4.0.X series, as with numerous
other things. Look for its return in future releases. Eventually there will
probably be a clicky thing under Panel Options.

Thank you,
I thought maybe it was just hidden somewhere I couldn’t find it.

Looks like it is on the KDE 4.2 roadmap…so it may be a little while
before we see it again.

well, i can tell you it isn’t implemented in 4.1, as i’ve been using it for a long time.

I have 4.1 also. It’s in my test VM.
Have you played with the plasma desktop?
I sat down today and really beat on it.
Gonna be cool I think once it’s fleshed out.
You can have multiple plasma activities which are just like
desktops. So you can set up a plasma ‘activity’
with various plasmoids on it, switch between ‘desktops’
via the pager to change your apps and basically get two
complete layers of applications. One cool thing about the
plasma workspace is you can move the entire space and view
all the activities in real time.
