Just updated to 4.7.3
No problems noticed
Second that, upgrading to KDE 4.7.3 went very smoothly
Thanks for the info
Just updated and it looks very good, no problems,
its being used with Kernel 3.1.0-3-desktop + Tumbleweed + ati-driver-installer-11-9-x86.x86_64.run
screen distortion also gone with LibO_3.4.3_Linux_x86-64 when using column left/right buttons in Calc.
Same here in oS 11.4 64-bit kernel 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop.
Issues with taskbar buttons not going away after closing program, or not resizing from 2 rows to 1 when the number of open apps lowers seem to be fixed. We’ll see…
+1 here works all fine too.
And the best for me is that plasma-addons is been splitted and now
the desktop can run without akonadi.

am i the only one not seeing the 4.7.3 repos for oS 12.1 – or did i loose
my mind recently and am looking in the wrong place? shouldn’t they be
under http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/47/ ?
or perhaps my mirror hasn’t been updated yet. everybody else sees KDE
4.7.3 / oS 12.1?

I doubt this will happen until after release

until one or two hours ago, my mirror showed 4.7.2 in K:D:F, so i thought
4.7.3 was supposed to show up in Release:/ first. there have been some
announcements on the oS-kde mailing list, re. which repo.s would receive
4.7.3 first, others remain frozen for a while. i didn’t follow this in
detail though.
now K:D:F shows 4.7.3, also for me, and i’m not puzzled anymore.

Does that mean no more 30+ akonadi processes in my userspace? Great!
Wasn’t the advice not to use Factory
They shifted Factory to focus on 12.2

[the following is NOT a recommendation! don’t do this, or something
similar, unless you’re prepared to throw away your installation!]

yes, i know, but so far they haven’t shifted very much, and i’m playing
around with my fresh install of oS 12.1, using K:D:F for openSUSE factory,
while i’m actually running 12.1.
it’s still downloading, and i’m aware that i’m asking (or rather begging)
for trouble. but i didn’t expect 12.1 to work as exceptionally well as it
does: no problems whatsoever, neither with systemd, nor the kernel, nor
the nuveau driver i’m using for the first time instead of nvidia. (i don’t
have 3D games, but everything i need works great with nuveau, including
video & flash.)
i still have an up-to-date instance of 11.4 on a different HDD, with my
important data rsynced both ways, so if the worst happens, i.e., KDE
explodes and i can’t zypper-dup back to OSS, i’m losing a few hours
reinstalling 12.1 – but not in a rush, since 11.4 will remain alive for a
while.

Did you get LibO_3.4.3_Linux_x86_64 from a openSUSe repo for 11.4? I got the
vanilla version working from LO website but only find 3.4.2 in repos.
Thanks
The following files were downloaded from the website ‘http://de.libreoffice.org/download/’.
168465443 Sep 25 13:03 LibO_3.4.3_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz
To get the British version packs these files were needed
–9362995 Sep 26 01:21 LibO_3.4.3_Linux_x86-64_helppack-rpm_en-GB.tar.gz
–8245466 Sep 26 01:20 LibO_3.4.3_Linux_x86-64_langpack-rpm_en-GB.tar.gz
other lanuage packs are available.
The tar’s when expanded contain the needed rpm.
The info came originally from this forum.

Thanks: thats the version I downloaded from LibreOffice. I have had very
little trouble with it on both 11.4 and 12.1.

just now i see that KDE:/Distro:/Factory for openSUSE 12.1
(http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/openSUSE_12.1/)
has switched to KDE 4.7.3. i’ve been using K:D:F: for openSUSE factory
untilo now (on my 12.1 install), and fortunately this didn’t blow up in my
face. switching to the proper KDF repo now.
