KDE 4.3 Taskbar problem

I’m having an interesting issue. Every once in a while I get two listing of the same window in my taskbar. One of them is the actual window and the other seems to be a ghost or replicant as it appears on every desktop, I use four, and does not go away when I close the window/application. This seems to happen most often with Firefox and Thunderbird but considering that those are my most used, and most often opened and closed, applications this is not too surprising.

Here is a screen shot with the extra listing:

I am running OpenSuse 11.2 with KDE 4.3(installed from Factory repository).

Any ideas?

I have seen this on very rare occasions but never looked in to it. I have tried replicating it but can’t ATM.

I can replicate it with kaffeine. Just download with firefox some a video and set open with kaffeine. If the video is running, download the next one with that settings, and the next one and so on. You will have to listings then in your taskbar, one of the listings has no function. You can try to combine and seperate them again. This will cause a crash in kicker. I was to lazy to report that on bugzilla.

Hi,

I get this same problem almost daily. It happens most frequently with groupwise, firefox, and chromium. This could just be because I have those applications open the most or that I open new windows often within those applications. I am not sure.

So far the only way to get rid of them is to log in, then log out. All KDE 4.3 releases have had this. I am using 4.3.4 now.

Any clues?

Thanks,
g
