KDE 4.3 and process staying at 50%

Hi,

I’m not sure if this is something that is ok or not, but what I noticed after upgrading Kde from 4.2 to 4.3, I now see a process that stays at 50%. The process is kde4d.
In 4.2 I never saw such spike. Just curious to know if that particular process is harmless.

Thank you

I have never seen this, a google of it refers to kde4d.exe for windows.

It’s linux alright. Using OpenSuse 11.1
Once I get into my computer I’ll attach a screenshot of process monitor.

I also tried to google it and I got similar results as you. That’s why I’m posting.

I also went to Yast - Software Management and searched with .rpm provides checked and still nothing.

Just so you don’t think I’m crazy here it is

LOL, after looking at my own screenshot. I noticed that I mispelled the process. It’s kded4 not kde4d. Sorry for driving you nuts. :shame:

OK, you didn’t post a screen, here is mine

kded4 is the KDE 4 Daemon, and is responsible for providing cross KDE application services, including Powerdevil, Password caching, SSL and Hotkeys support, etc.

Which modules are listed in System Settings > Advanced > Service Manager?
