Hi guys,
I’m new here. I did some research about this problem and no luck yet.
My system tray icons look weird. Once i booted up, it was fine but after a few minutes later, its all looks like this http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/7463/snapshot1x.png
I know it isn’t a big deal but it bothers me seeing other guys’ desktop are perfect but not mine.
I’m using kde 4.2 and geforce 8800 with latest driver 130.
can you guys please help me with it? thanks
this is a known problem and currently I don’t think there’s a solution
Multiple small problems in KDE4.2 - 1
ohh ok
hopefully they will be able to fix soon. thanks for your reply.
Problem should have been fixed in 4.2.1,
Do you have the Qt45 packages installed?
Hi,
Sorry I’m new, what is qt45? and how can i check or install?
thanks
Go to ‘>Yast2controlcenter>Software>Software Repositories’ and see if you have a ‘qt45’ repo. To install it go to:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt45/openSUSE_11.1
and select your arch and then go to >Yast2controlcenter>Software>Software Repositories select ‘>Add>Specify URL’ and copy and paste that url in the ‘URL’ line and add whatever title you prefer. I’m in x86_64 so I would copy and paste:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt45/openSUSE_11.1/x86_64
Then update your system.
Another solution and what I’m currently running with no problems that I’ve noticed yet is to remove any KDE repos you have and upgrade to KDE 4.2.1:
KDE/Repositories - openSUSE
and add the repos for your version of openSUSE there then update.
Hi guys,
I tried what you guys said. My kde is already in version 4.2.1 before I upgrade it. But I upgraded it anyway. Not sure if it is qt45 now but still got the same problems.
Well, it’s easy enough to check if you managed to get qt45 installed.
Open a konsole and type:
kwin --version
The first line of the output should say Qt: 4.5.0 if qt45 is installed. That problem is supposed to be fixed if Qt45 is used.
wow!! its fixed now. I was installed as 4.4.3 for some reason and I move it to priority 10. its fixed now! heh thanks!!
