the plasma does not work at all no right click on desktop

this plasma is invoked from kde3 konsole.
then some of the menu item work
otherwise the desktop just gets stuck.
ctl alt bkspace thrice gets back to login kdm
do i remove kde4 or what?
Do you have a QT repo added to your list, some use just QT or QT44
You could rename the .kde4 folder to .kde4old see if that helps. You will need to re-do all your settings. You can always go back to your old folder. Do all the re-name from kde3
the qt44 repo is already enabled.
at the terminal i get errors like QTpainter is not working
after that plasma starts but no fonts or response to mouse clicks.
after 4 5 minutes the command brings up a pop window empty
for desktop settings.
i have deleted .kde and .kde4 several times.
still it remains same.
when i invoke kdeinit4 from twm i get lot of errors before it brings the desktop.
the forum does not take more than 10kb of text.
how can i post the errors so someone can help me out.
it behaves as if it searches for commands and getting nowhere.
path problems? ram not enough?something like that.
it is utterly slow like windows3.1 msword.
the hdd activity itself starts after a long time.

Try a re-install of all kde4base packages
Same here using todays packages from the KDE4/Factory repos. Cannot find what’s the problem.
Definitely not RAM, I’ve got 8GB of DDR2-800 Dual Channel. Will try the unstable packages now.
i installed kde-4.2.60 by zypper update.
i changed some kde-4.3 packages , still zypper update does not pickup the reinstall of kde4.
once the kde4 desktop is invoked then whole system becomes unstable and then gets stuck even at kdm./console
something funny is happening.
cpu is not heating up but the behaviour is like cpu at 100%
i cant find any solution yet.
today it is updating compiz and qt4 lets see if that will solve it:(
with yast2 i upgraded all kde packages from 4.1.3 to 4.2.60
now it works !!

in my laptop opengl desktop effects does not work.
allways it asks me to change in advanced settings to Xrender.
now the problem is solved 99%
very nice fonts settings are possible
