Hi,
when I start yast to install new software or to update my system, I get the following error:
Download Failed:
file ‘/repodata/repomd.xml’ not found on ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Banshee/openSUSE_11.1’
How can I repair this to install KDE 4.2.2 on my openSUSE 11.1?
Post the result of this from a terminal first:
zypper lr --details
Thank you! So far I deleted some of the repos (wanted to keep pulse-audio and vlc player). I also changed the priority of “repo-update” to 99. However, when I try to add one of these two repos, I get the error message
creating a repository from URL Index of /repositories/KDE:/42/openSUSE_11.1 not possible, try again?
creating a repository from URL http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/42/openSUSE_11.1/ not possible, try again?
I tried to add the repo via yast.
Here’s the current repo output (Ja = Yes, Nein = No, Aktiviert = Activated, Aktualisieren = Refresh, Priorität = Priority, Dienst = Server):

OK
But I recommend VLC repo be No|No
And do an unconditional update in Packman to use VLC player from there.
I’m not sure where you are in the world - I was going to suggest a different Mirror location like:
Index of /pub/opensuse/repositories/KDE:/42/openSUSE_11.1
Index of /pub/opensuse/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE_42
These are German
The main Mirror site is here, so you can choose something more suited to you if you like.
openSUSE Download Mirrors - Overview
It doesn’t matter which mirror I use, there’s always the same error message
creating a repository from URL Index of … not possible, try again?
I changed vlc and pulse-audio to “no,no” and I tried different mirrors from different countries. I think my internet connection is not the problem, because adding repos was working two weeks ago. When I add a repo, I always choose the simple “add url” function.
I didn’t say change audio, and I can’t say I know why you have it, but maybe you added it for a reason?
When you open Software Management and Filter by repo and look in ‘System’ - Do you see a selection of Red and Blue in the Packages section?
If Yes.
Try going to the Packages Menu at the top and select ‘All in this list Update Unconditionally’
If it throws a load of errors and you can’t see a way through you can just close the window to abandon any changes.
Report back with what you find there…
