KDE 4.10 / QTCurve and Colour Schemes

With the nice new default theme for openSUSE in KDE 4.10 I’ve decided it’s time to also switch to a dark colour scheme.
I found one I like from kdelook ( Balance ), tweaked it a little and have things looking good.

The only problem I am having is with gtk apps such as firefox, thunderbird and gimp etc . . .

The colour scheme has applied nicely to gtk apps but the menu text has remained black while in all kde apps the text is white (as it should be.)

gtk /Thunderbird

The problem is caused by my use of the qtcurve style for gtk apps. If I switch to oxygen then the text is white.

So I am thinking, there is probably a setting in the vast array of preferences for qtcurve that will let me fix this up.
I just can’t seem to find it.
Does anybody have any idea on this one? I really don’t want to abandon qtcurve for my gtk apps otherwise they will end up looking completely different to my QT / KDE apps.

edit: openSUSE 12.2, KDE 4.10, x86_64

I’ve seen things like this, and managed to get it right by searching and playing with the details of KDE’s colorscheme.

yes, that is a temporary workaround. The problem with that solution is it also changes the colour when it should not be changed.
I’m actually using the oxygen style at the moment in both kde and gtk apps and beginning to like it. I haven’t used it for such a long time as I have always used qtcurve since kde3 days.
