kde 4.1 and phonon problem :(

I just upgraded to 4.1 and its awesome, but I just have one problem that whenever I login I get the message saying

phonon: failed to use device (sound card) and reverting back to default

something like that and kde system sounds like log in andlog out don’t work even though sound it self works perfectly.

any one wlse experiencing this? :(:confused:

I get that message as well, but sound still seems to work correctly. I am working on a Dell Latitude D620.

Just start the KDE4 System Settings and goto Sound. Then go into every Audio Output and Audio Capture section and move the device “default” to the top of the list. Save and restart your kde.

Snake,
I had that happen to me I fixed by reinstalling phonon-backend-xine
then enabling it in Configure desktop. If you’ve already tried that I’m out of ideas.
