Just getting no response from kde apps such as konqueror or dolphin. So I tried starting from a terminal. I have posted the terminal contents:

This is a bit out of my depth. Anyone!
KDE 3 is fine
The default KDE 4 apps worked fine for me when I first tested them with a fresh install. However, that being said, all the KDE devs are encouraging everyone to upgrade to the 4.1 betas since 4.0.4 had so many problems.

Yes. I have tried 4.1 a number of times, including earlier today, but had to revert back - again!
I can’t login to 4.1 at all with my old.kde4 - get a plasma crash
so rename it .kde4old and start fresh
boots first time ok
reload - and blank gray screen to desktop
so at the mo, I’m on kde3
Delete your .kde4 folder and then try again. That should fix you up.
Yes. I tried that I don’t know how many times.
Seeing kde4.0.4 is screewed for me right now. I’m just running all the packages back to factory 4.1 again to see how I get on.

OK. It’s doing the same thing. First boot into kde4.1 is fine, next login plain gray screen.
I tried changing from kwin to compiz - compiz give a complete black screen on second boot
no actions are possible - ie; right click
What video card do you have, and which driver as you using?

I’ve tried to reinstall kde 4, deleting the ./kde4 folder, but still the same error.

For now I’m on kde3. Though kde4 runs fine, other than dolphin ans konqueror (ming I haven’t tried everything). You can still use the kde3 file manager in kde4 of course.
I got it working again. For some reason both dolphin and konqueror started to work again after deleting libkonq5.
