Hi,
I have OpenSuse 11.0 with KDE 4.0. Is it possible to start the system with KDE 4.0 or KDE 3.x withount reinstalling the system?
I would like to choose the desktop to boot.
Thanks
Yes, make sure that KDE 4.x and KDE 3.x are both installed, then on the login screen click the “session” button and select the desktop environment you want from the list. The programs, libraries, and settings from KDE 3 and KDE 4 are all stored separately from each other so there shouldn’t be any conflicts. You can still run KDE 3 programs in KDE 4 and vice versus.
Yes, surely you can do that, I have actually done the same yesterday just to try it (I am a GNOME user now slowly moving to KDE 4 wich I reeeaaalllly like)
make sure you update your kde 4.0 to 4.1 you will like it much better
add these repo’s then run an update

How, exactly does one do this?
I have KDE 3.5 AND KDE 4 installed, and when I boot there is a selection
button shown at the top of the screen, but there is no way to actually make
a selection. Is there some secret keystroke to get there?
