KDE 3.5 and Volumen Control on Dell

Hi,
I have a Dell 1720 laptop. I use opensuse 11.0 with kde 3.5. But the laptop buttons for volume control do not work. It works with GNOME. Anybody knows how to fix it? Is KMix software the problem?

Install Alsa mixer GUI. Then open it and try to set the volume up and down as you wish to. That will enable laptop buttons .It works on my Dell Latitude.

Do you mean the gmerlin-alsa mixer package?
There are a lot of alsa packages.
