kann NVIDIA Treiber unter openSUSE 13.1 nicht aktivieren

Hallo,

bekomme den NVIDIA-Treiber unter openSUSE 13.1 64 Bit) nicht zum laufen.
Grafikkarte= NVIDIA GFeForce 8200.
Folgenden Pakete sind installiert:

Mit “nvidia-xconfig” wurde “/etc/X11/xorg.conf” erzeugt.
Wenn ich das System neu starte, startet das X-Windows nicht (nur die Konsole).

Poste bitte einmal:

uname -a

zypper se -si kernel nvidia

Die Datei /etc/X11/xorg.conf ist eigentlich nicht mehr nötig, die würde ich umbenennen.

Tja, du hast vermutlich die falschen Kernel Module installiert. (nvidia-(uvm-)gfxG03-kmp-xxx)
Bitte lösche nochmal alle nvidia Pakete (im speziellen nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-pae und nvidia-uvm-gfxG03-kmp-pae), und installiere dann manuell folgende:
nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop, nvidia-uvm-gfxG03-kmp-desktop, x11-video-vidiaG03, nvidia-glG03, nvidia-computeG03
(Ich gehe jetzt mal davon aus, dass du kernel-desktop verwendest. Überprüfen kannst du das z.B. mit “uname -a”)

/etc/X11/xorg.conf

Die brauchst du nicht.
Der nvidia Treiber wird automatisch geladen, wenn er installiert ist.

Eine xorg.conf zwingt Xorg allerdings den nvidia Treiber zu laden, daher weigert es sich zu starten wenn der nvidia Treiber nicht funktioniert.

Mit “nvidia-xconfig” wurde “/etc/X11/xorg.conf” erzeugt.
Wenn ich das System neu starte, startet das X-Windows nicht (nur die Konsole).

Ja.
Lösche die /etc/X11/xorg.conf, dann solltest du wenigstens in den grafischen Modus kommen.
Oder benutze “Advanced Options”/“Erweiterte Optionen” im Bootmenü und wähle den “Recovery Mode”/“Wiederherstellungsmodus”.

Zusätzlich zu dem oben erwähnten, solltest du auch noch kernel-pae-devel deinstallieren.
Das hat auf deinem 64-bit System nichts verloren! :wink:

Hallo,

ich habe die entsprechenden Aktionen von wolfi323 durchgeführt, aber mein Problem ist noch vorhanden.
Auch ohne “/etc/xorg.conf” komme ich nicht in den grafischen Modus (nur über die "Advanced Options).

Als root:

zypper in -f x11-video-nvidiaG03 nvidia-computeG03 nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop nvidia-glG03 nvidia-uvm-gfxG03-kmp-desktop

PC neu starten.

Ansonsten poste auch einmal:

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 vga

Hm, das schaut jetzt eigentlich ok aus.
Hast du die Pakete komplett neu installiert?

Probier evtl. mal folgendes und poste eventuelle Fehlermeldungen:

sudo zypper in -f nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop

Wie die Fehlermeldung sagt, funktioniert “startx” nicht als Benutzer mit den Standard-Sicherheitseinstellungen.

Du kannst es als root probieren, aber wenn der X server beim Booten nicht startet, wird er auch nicht starten wenn du es manuell probierst.

Das ist vom Recovery Mode, hilft also nicht weiter, weil da gar nicht probiert wird den nvidia Treiber zu laden.
Mach bitte einen normalen Boot, nachdem du in den Textmodus kommst reboote in den Recovery Mode und poste dann /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old .

Was noch sein könnte:
Die GForce 8200 ist halt eins der ältesten Modelle, die vom aktuellen G03 Treiber noch unterstützt werden.
Eventuell haperts da sogar schon mit der Unterstützung, obwohl sie noch offiziell gelistet ist. Kann mich an einen anderen Fall vor nicht allzulanger Zeit erinnern, wo wir den G03 Treiber auch nicht zum Laufen bekamen (war auch irgendeine GeForce 8xxx soweit ich mich erinnere).

Du solltest also vielleicht mal probieren stattdessen den G02 Treiber zu installieren (aber bitte die 5 G03 Pakete vorher deinstallieren!).
Also genau: x11-video-nvidiaG02, nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop, nvidia-computeG02 mit YaST oder zypper installieren.

Aber ich würde gerne vorher noch einen Blick auf die obengenannten Dinge werfen, und das halt nur als letzten Ausweg offen lassen… :wink:

Da haperts also immer noch mit dem nvidia Kernel Modul.

Also ruf bitte “sudo zypper in -f nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop” und poste eventuelle Fehlermeldungen.

Und die Ausgabe von “dmesg|grep nvidia” (bei einem normalen Boot) wäre evtl. auch interessant.

Du kannst auch mal probieren das nvidia Modul händisch zu laden:

sudo /sbin/modprobe -v nvidia

Danach sollte “dmesg|tail” Aufschluss darüber geben, warums nicht klappt.

Tja, ich würd sagen, das ist das Problem.

Die NVIDIA Version 331.20 hatte ich zur Selbsthilfe (bevor ich hier um Hilfe gefragt habe) manuell installiert nach Hinweis aus dem Internet.
Was muss ich tun um die Versions Gleichheit zu erhalten ?

Hast du den Treiber überhaupt deinstalliert bevor du die Pakete installiert hast?
Es ist nie eine gute Idee den Treiber gleichzeitig auf unterschiedliche Arten zu installieren (RPMs vs. .run), das gibt eigtl. immer Probleme vor allem wenns auch noch unterschiedliche Versionen sind.

Probier mal nochmal den Treiber zu entfernen, mit “sudo nvidia-installer --uninstall”.
Falls das nicht geht, solltest du die exakt selbe Version noch mal runterladen (oder evtl. hast du sie ja eh noch), und dann “sudo NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.20.run --uninstall” (oder halt entsprechend) aufrufen.

Anschließend musst du die Pakete erneut installieren, da mit ziemlicher Sicherheit einige Dateien jetzt fehlen:

sudo zypper in -f x11-video-nvidiaG03 nvidia-computeG03 nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop nvidia-glG03 nvidia-uvm-gfxG03-kmp-desktop

Nach einem Neustart (oder evtl. zwei) sollte es danach aber wirklich gehen, vorausgesetzt der 331.89 Treiber unterstützt deine Karte noch.

Hallo,

ich habe alle Schritte durchgeführt, jedoch ohne Ergebnis.
Habe dann die Nvidia_G03 Pakete deinstalliert und die NVIDIA_G02 Pakete installiert. Leider ohne Ergebnis.
Habe dann über “yast” die NVIDIA_G02 Pakete deinstalliert und den gedownloded NVIDIA Treiber “331.89” manuel installiert.
Ergebnis:
Im abgesicherten Modus kann ich das X-Window (startx) unter dem user “root” starten, jedoch nicht unter dem user “juergen” (schwarzer Bildschirm).
Bitte um weitere Infos, und vielen Dank für die bis jetzige Geduld (ist wirklich vorzüglich).

Zuerst mal: im abgesicherten Modus wird der nvidia Treiber gar nicht verwendet. Das ist der Sinn und Zweck dieses Modus, es wird ein generischer Treiber verwendet, damit er auch bei Grafiktreiberproblemen noch funktioniert.

Dass “startx” nur als root funktioniert, ist normal. X kann als normaler User nicht gestartet werden, weil die notwendigen Rechte fehlen. Deswegen verwendet man normalerweise auch einen Displaymanager (= Login Screen).
Was ist eigentlich dein “default target”? (weil du auch im Wiederherstellungsmodus nur in den Textmodus kommst)

systemctl get-default

Außerdem poste doch bitte mal die Ausgabe von “/sbin/lspci -nnk|grep -iA3 vga”, wie schon mal von Sauerland geschrieben.

Um jetzt rauszufinden, was los ist, solltest du einen normalen Boot machen und dann die Xorg.0.log posten.

Allerdings:
Deine ganze Installiererei und Deinstalliererei von unterschiedlichen Treiberversionen machts jetzt nicht unbedingt einfacher dir zu helfen.
Wahrscheinlich wärs besser du entfernst mal komplett alle Spuren vom nvidia Treiber von deinem System (soweit dass der nouveau Treiber läuft), und dann fangen wir nochmal von vorn an.

Gut. Wollte nur sichergehen, dass da keine onboard intel Grafik vorhanden ist, das kann nämlich Probleme mit dem nvidia Treiber machen.
Bzw. bei einem sogenannten “Optimus”-System (Hybrid Intel- und NVidia-Grafik) funktioniert der Treiber gar nicht, da braucht man das sogenannte “Bumblebee”.

Also der 331.89 Treiber wird jetzt scheinbar ohne Probleme geladen.
Wie ist jetzt der Status? Ich nehme an der Treiber funktioniert immer noch nicht?

Gibts hinterher noch eine Fehlermeldung, die du evtl. rausgekürzt hast?

Allerdings wird der Treiber auch dann erfolgreich geladen, wenn das Kernel-Modul eine falsche Version hat (304.121 vom G02 Treiber z.B.), funktioniert dann aber nicht (ohne Fehlermeldung im Xorg log).
Also bitte auch nochmal die Ausgabe von “dmesg|grep -i nvidia”.

Und sicherheitshalber Informationen zu allen installierten nvidia Kernel-Modulen:

Jedoch leider mit “/etc/X11/xorg.conf”
Den Webbrowser “Firefox” konnte ich aber nicht starten, deshalb schreibe ich dieses im Wiederherstellungsmodus.

Die Ausgaben zeigen jedenfalls, dass tatsächlich nur das 331.89 nvidia Kernel-Modul vorhanden ist.

Was meinst du damit?
Startet X nur, wenn die xorg.conf vorhanden ist?
Wie schaut die xorg.conf aus?

Prinzipiell ist eine xorg.conf ja nichts Böses. Also wenn’s nur damit funktioniert, lass sie halt.
Sie verhindert X halt nur auf einen anderen Treiber auszuweichen, also wird es nicht starten falls es ein Problem mit dem nvidia Treiber gibt.

Und da du den Treiber jetzt manuell installiert hast (richtig?), wird das nach jedem Kernel-Update passieren.
Da musst du dann halt entweder im Textmodus oder im Recovery Modus den Treiber neu installieren.

Den Webbrowser “Firefox” konnte ich aber nicht starten, deshalb schreibe ich dieses im Wiederherstellungsmodus.

Was passiert denn, wenn du Firefox startest?
Erscheint einfach kein Fenster oder stürzt das ganze X ab?

Installier bitte mal das Paket “Mesa-demo-x” und poste die Ausgabe von:

glxinfo | grep render

(bei einem normalen Boot, als normaler User in einem Shell Fenster im grafischen System)

Die NVIDIA-Treiber (G03) habe ich wie angegeben über “zypper” installiert.
Nachdem ich alle NVIDIA-Treiber über yast deinstalliert hatte.

Wenn ich den Webbrowser “firefox” starten will erscheint nur ein Fenster mit der Meldung “Sorry …”.
X stürtzt nicht ab. Das passiert aber wenn ich “XBMC” starte.
Liegt vielleicht daran das XBMC auf dem VGA-Monitor startet.
Die Log-Datei sagt nichts aus.

Das Paket “Mesa-demo-x” war installiert.
