Kaffeine, openSUSE12.1 and audio cds

With openSUSE12.1, kernel 3.3.0-1-desktop x86_64 and kaffeine-1.2.2-51.1.x86_64,

the only way found of playing audio cds was by adding a line to the file /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-cd.rules,
the file now looks like this,

# This file was automatically generated by the /lib/udev/write_cd_rules
# program, run by the cd-aliases-generator.rules rules file.
#
# You can modify it, as long as you keep each rule on a single
# line, and set the $GENERATED variable.

# HL-DT-STDVD-RAM_GH22NP20 (pci-0000:00:14.1-scsi-0:0:0:0)
SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_CDROM}=="?*", ENV{ID_PATH}=="pci-0000:00:14.1-scsi-0:0:0:0", SYMLINK+="cdrom", ENV{GENERATED}="1"

SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_CDROM}=="?*", ENV{ID_PATH}=="pci-0000:00:14.1-scsi-0:0:0:0", SYMLINK+="cdaudio", ENV{GENERATED}="1"

with this change all tracks can be played, but track selection can only be made via forward / back tracking,

using the play list is not possible,

Anyone any better solutions?

Similar problem on another PC, same sw installed,

this time dvdrom and dvdrw installed,

changed file: /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-cd.rules as follows

# This file was automatically generated by the /lib/udev/write_cd_rules
# program, run by the cd-aliases-generator.rules rules file.
#
# You can modify it, as long as you keep each rule on a single
# line, and set the $GENERATED variable.

SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_CDROM}=="?*", ENV{ID_PATH}=="pci-0000:00:14.1-scsi-0:0:0:0", SYMLINK+="audiocd", ENV{GENERATED}="1"

the last line of Optiarc_DVD_RW_AD-7170A enables all tracks to be played using forward / back tracking

the last line of PBDS_DH-16D1P has no effect and with the audiocd in this drive only the first track of the disk plays

Anybody any idea for this performance?

any suggestions appreciated

Having a play with file: /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-cd.rules as follows

# This file was automatically generated by the /lib/udev/write_cd_rules
# program, run by the cd-aliases-generator.rules rules file.
#
# You can modify it, as long as you keep each rule on a single
# line, and set the $GENERATED variable.

with the file as shown above the roles are reversed

the last line of PBDS_DH-16D1P enables all tracks to be played using forward / back tracking

the last line of Optiarc_DVD_RW_AD-7170A has no effect and with the audiocd in this drive, only the first track of the disk plays

Just more info for the puzzle
