Kaffeine and Xine get Error (Cannot find MRL plugin for [dvd:/])

Error message: Cannot find MRL plugin for [dvd:/]

Trying to play dvd that worked under 11.1 and original dvd version
of openSUSE 11.2. It failed after a update. Not sure which one
since I do not normally play dvd movies on my system.

Checked all multimedia rpms and they are all from packman except
kaffeine which is KDE4 version.

Not sure if libxine1-32bit and - debuginfo is problem. De-install
wants to deinstall 720 items.

ran scripts in restricted format how to. Data at link below.

Please check against this:

Make sure you do this, even though you seem to know this is important:

Already went thru the document. I have all the rpms (according to
YaST) you suggest in it Did find one that was not from packman, but
I installed the packman version before asking for help)

Just check again. No blue or red rpms installed except
gecko-mediaplayer and its debug information rpm.As I may have
missed an rpm I need but I do not know which one.

Also looked at old cpu’s notes.

Think I have found the problem, Its the way someone made these
dvd’s. If I go to /media, slect the dvd name and click on the the
individual .vob files they play Ok. They do not step thru. If I
manually go and click on the next one it plays.

I know they worked under 11.1.

Thanks for your help. I will try a different dvd soon and see what
happens

Solved!. Went through 10 steps how-to after updating everything in
Packman and update, etc. Kaffeine now working without error
messages.

Thanks for your input.

Good news.
It’s a pity it’s so tricky isn’t it.
