As the title suggests, I’d like to bulk rename my music collection so as to be legacy compatible. What would be the exact syntax? & how would SyncThing handle a renamed file, would it sync a duplicate? Is there an option in K3b to avoid this in future? Can I raise a feature suggestion?
Unfortunately XFS is not supported by the majority of car stereos!?! Haha.
I don’t see which role k3b plays here. kRename is a much better tool for batch renaming, with lots of options.
The message is clear: you have filenames available containing characters that FAT32 cannot deal with.
Any other GUI alternatives? krename very buggy for me.
I’ve used it a lot for a project, thousands of files, and it did what it should do. What do you mean by ‘buggy for me’ ?
Sounds like a synonym for “Layer 8 Problem”.

Could be user error.
May try again, renamed original files, where upon it went a bit Pete Tong. Then SyncThinged my blank Music directory to tower. Now downloading from Google. Idiot! Doh!!!
Computer says “No”, cue incompetence induced rage… Did some gardening in Meat Space, very calming & now back on the horse. Worse things happen at sea.
rotfl! :shame: >:(
Had no success with krename or kid3, will try EasyTAG, but if resorting to CLI does openSUSE use perl rename or t’other?
