Greetings!
I have a problem with k3b and I wonder am I the one who have such problem. Since openSUSE version Leap 15.0 k3b is unable to clear RW disks. It was so simple to rewrite DVD-+RW in openSUSE 42.3. I just ran *.iso-file, clicked Write and it offered me to format existing DVD-RW. Now it doesn’t offer to format DVD-RW and I have to click Format by myself. But after formatting I’m trying to burn new image and it says me the DVD-RW is not empty. The “Begin” button is not active.
Within K3b please check the following:
- Within the settings dialogue check that, the device is displayed correctly – “write abilities” all OK.
- Within the settings dialogue check that, all the programs have been enabled.
Please also check if all the files required by K3b have been installed: “rpm --query --requires k3b”.
You could also check that everything that K3b needs has been installed by executing “rpm --install --force --verbose k3b”, alternatively “zypper install --force k3b”.
Thank you! I executed the commands you gave me and then began to check the settings. Found a checkbox “Format automatically”. Now the problem is gone. It rewrites DVD+RW without questions.
All the programs was enabled by the way.
