Been trying to resolve the pop config error message when opening k3b. Tried, and searched anything I could find. Used the community to add the MP3 codec, and it doesn’t resolve the issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. System is using an Asroc MB with dual core processor. openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 64 bit installed. tia, Wil

Is the package k3b-codecs installed? Do you have the packman repository?

Yes shows as installed from Yast, and would have been applied through the one click as well.

Which one click did you use?

Oops, you are right, linmp3lame is out of interest here its only used
for encoding not decoding.

Installig the “lame” packages makes another mp3 encoding option available in k3b.

Encoding yes, but no decoding and decoding is what the thread is about
and what I misread.

So I’m stuck with the popup, and no solution to the real problem?

caf4926 gave you the info about the decoder, install libmad0.

Oh really?
CO:~ # rpm -qa ‘libmad*’
libmad-devel-0.15.1b-9.14.x86_64
libmad0-32bit-0.15.1b-3.4.x86_64
libmad0-0.15.1b-9.14.x86_64
What decoder plugins do you see when you go into k3b preferences?
Is it really the decoder k3b complains about - can you upload a
screenshot of the error message to susepaste.org and give the link here?
It may be even better if you run k3b from terminal and paste the output
here after the error message poped up.
Less guess work.

I’d post a screenshot, if I could figure out how to make one.

Thanks for the links, however my issue in this regard is that when I key either the [PS) button, or [ALT PS] buttons, and then try to paste it into gimp, it says that there is no image data in the clipboard or buffer.
In either kde or gnome
PrtSc should initiate the desktop screen capture
Actuall gnome now prints the image directly to your Pictures folder
Using KDE here, Guess I need to add what I use in a signature.
On this desktop I hit the PrtScr key and nothing, I see nothing in the klipper, and I don’t see anything in the Pictures folder.
