k3b , codecs , MP3 Audio Decoder plugin not found

Hi there

I’m always getting this msg, but I could just disable it , because I don’t think I’m going to make more audio cd from mp3 in my life, but I follow the 1 click install, I have the packman packages and k3b-codecs , I have the libmad :

i | k3b | A Universal CD and DVD Burning Application | package
  | k3b | A Universal CD and DVD Burning Application | srcpackage
i | k3b-codecs | Full Multimedia Codec Support for k3b | package

daniel@myopensuse:~> locate libmad.so
/usr/lib64/libmad.so.0
/usr/lib64/libmad.so.0.2.1

But in K3b I still can’t adjust the mp3 quality that I want, and I don’t know how to do this.
So, is there somthing else I have to do ?

Thanks

I’m using 13.2

And which package versions do you have installed?

rpm -qa k3b*

PS: I just noticed that I get this error dialog as well, because I didn’t have k3b-codecs installed at all after upgrading to 13.2 (I somehow forgot to install it as I don’t really need it either).
After installing it, the plugin still wasn’t found. I had to run “kbuildsycoca4” manually to “fix” it. But logout/login or reboot should work as well.

Hi

This ones:
k3b-2.0.80+git20141104.1834-1.1.x86_64
k3b-codecs-2.0.80+git20141104.1834-1.1.x86_64

In k3b I have mp3 Lame (?), but no option for the quality
Thanks

Looks ok.

Please see my previous post (I edited it) for the likely solution.

Yes. Lame is an external application that is just run by that plugin. You have to specify the quality via a command line option.
