Just upgraded to 13.2, now what

I have been running 12.3 from an upgrade from 12.1 from an upgrade from 12.0

so

i just upgraded to 13.2 because all the repos apparently died.okmarks

i totally botched by install and wiped out all my old data, i didnt have much to loose besides my bookmarks… i may actually have an old backup of my bookmarks somewhere so no big deal there either

now what

what repos should i add, anything i should do after install to make my use better… besides the basic “out of the box” experience i have now?

so far its working great though

thanks all

Unless you have very specific needs and just need it for “general” use, I’d say Packman Repository and install various codecs from there and you should be done ( http://opensuse-guide.org/codecs.php )

It’ll enable playback of various formats like H264+MP3+AAC etc. that cannot be supported out of the box due to licensing issues.

yeah, pretty much general use

one thing i have found is that i have to enter my wifi password everytime i reboot, i want it to connect automatically when i turn computer on.

what do i need to do with that

i had the packman repo installed before, i will set that up… thanks

thanks for the link, awesome, you are the best

so far my biggest beef is having to enter my wifi password every single time… how do i make it remember it?

opensuse has always just “worked” for me since i started at version 6.0, done the novel thing and am back again… i am a mandrake refugee, from windows then…

i still dont know comand line stuff unless someone lays it out… im a point and click guy. suse has always been my friend, but this wifi password thing is rididculoous and im sure its somehting stupid i just dont know about

honestly i just use my computer, i play a few online games, faacebook, shop ebay and amazon and watch netflix… having to enter my wifi password every single time i want to access imdb or check my bids is getting old already

there has to be something… what am i missing?

im sure its somehting stupid as hell, but humour me please

Using Wicked or Networkmanager??

It may not be the Net password but the kwallet one?? What desktop??

when i set it up i used the “basic” kwallet

If you have set a kwallet password that is asked each time. If you don’t want to be bothered run kwallet and reset the password to nothing ie a blank it will stop asking

Your other option is to set up the connection in Network Manager as a system connection (AKA ‘All users may connect to this network’ in KDE front-end), then KWallet doesn’t come into it.
