Just installed opensuse 11 wifi probs...

not sure about how to fix but when I unplug ethernet wifi doesn’t even try to connect, the network icon just goes away.I’ve downloaded madwifi, I think it installed not sure though…I’m new to suse here is lspci -v

Why do you think madwifi will do anything for you? Clearly you have an
ipw2200, which uses the ipw2200 kernel module. You need to configure it.

I don’t think you want Madwifi drivers.
Make sure you installed the ipw stuff through Yast, especially the firmware.

I would suggest checking the intel website for the most current drivers. I am not sure if your card is affected by this problem, but the ipw drivers may not be supported by the current kernel version, shipped with opensuse.
