Tumbleweed update this morning resulted in a broken system, I can’t get a login screen.
Checking the journalctl:
gnome-shell[1507]: JS Error: SyntaxError: missing ) after catch @ resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/runDialog.js:175
gnome-shell[1507]: Execution of main.js threw exception: Script <main> threw an exception
org.gnome.Shell.desktop[1507]: (EE) failed to read Wayland events: connection reset by peer
gnome-session[1499]: gnome-session-binary[1499]: WARNING: App 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' exited with code 1
Not a Gnome programmer, but let’s see if I can find this .js file and fix this manually.
Again most likely the result of not using ‘zypper dup’ but some other update method. Which is not supported. Only ‘zypper dup’ is.

Yes, that fixed it. Seems strange that a fresh Tumbleweed install with automated patches would need this, but now I know better.
