My system (SuSE 11.2) just did an update today (8/27/10 using the updater applet) and now when I visit some pages that have java, I get this error message: “icedteanp plugin error: failed to run /etc/alternatives/…/bin/java
rerun “firefox -g” in a terminal window”
Then the page loads. However, I get this error when I’m using SeaMonkey!
The particular page that triggers this is Advanced rendering plug-in - Sweet Home 3D Blog
After many of those error messages, the browser freezes (won’t respond) for a while, then I am able to finally go to other sites.
The icedtea version is: 1.8.1 (suse1.1.3-i386) with java 1.6 (in firefox)
While SeaMonkey has IcedTea NPR Web Browser Plugin (using IcedTea6 1.7.3 (suse-2.1.1-i386))
