Jardinains2

I’m running SuSE 11.2 and I do have OpenGL installed and I’m sure that its enabled. The software I depend on uses it and they run fine.

I wanted to run Jardinains 2 but when I did, Trackball opens instead.
This is what I did:
I extracted the file JN2_linux_1_1_lite.tar.gz to its own folder (named Jardinains2), then I clicked on the executable (named Jardinains 2!), nothing happens.
Then I tried just clicking on the executable from within the tar.gz file (from within Ark) and Trackball ran instead! When I right click on the executable, it says, “open with Trackball”.

When I try to run Jardinains from a terminal, this is what I get:

If 'Jardinains' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
    cnf Jardinains

When I do:

cnf Jardinains

it gives me:

Jardinains: command not found

Why did SuSE associate Jardinains with Trackball?

Please Try to cd to the directory You’ve extracted the game and type ./Jardinians if that’s what the executable is called. As to why openSUSE associated it with Trackball I really don’t know but maybe You can change that is system settings->default programs

Best regards,
Greg

Thanks for the reply.
I managed to find an older version, 1.0.1 which did work (the one that did not work was 1.1.1).

No problem  it seems I didn’t help You at all. Glad to hear You figured it out.

Best regards,
Greg

type ./Jardinians

You did remind me that I used the executable command wrongly. I should’ve remembered that (doh!)

This happens to me very often even though I try to keep in mind not to do this

Best regards,
Greg
