It just boots up now without me having to sign in

For some reason, my laptop now just boots up without me having to sign it. Is there a way for me to switch it back to me having to sign in first before I am in? It’s a Leap 15.2 machine using grub2-efi, on an older MacBook Pro.

You use “now”. Is this a change of behavior, or has it been this way since your install?

Is this about encryption, or user login screen providing password step being skipped? If the latter, your desktop settings should have a section for enabling auto-login or not. If it’s about the former, I know nothing.

It is about the latter. Where do I find my desktop settings?

You haven’t told us which desktop you installed or use. There is a main menu somewhere that you should find them in. The main menu is normally found via an icon at the lower left of screen in KDE Plasma, and some others, but elsewhere in others. You might even find them via a right click on the desktop itself.

I’m using the window manager IceWM. Anyway, I did find a solution by checking out Yast, which has a utility to alter aspects of the log in.

I thought I had opted for signing in rather than automatic. But, I might be mistaken.

Anyway, it’s solved.

Nice work!
