Issues with YaST

Hi everyone, I guess I’ll just cut to the chase. I recently upgraded from 11.1 to 11.2 (even though it claims 11.3) and now yast throws an error. It doesnt matter whether is GUI or ncurses. I have reinstalled and searched on google for days, its infuriating. Have a look.

Error loading language plugin /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2lang_perl.so: libperl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have seen other postings regarding this error, but none have any resolution, I think most just switch distros. I’d rather not, any help?

See if you post the result of this from a terminal

zypper lr -d

and

uname -a

Sorry I took so long getting back, I was having issues logging

You need to remove repo’s 7,8, and 9

They are Factory, which are in use for 11.3

Once removed do this from outside X

do you realize that 11.2 has not yet been released…
that is, it is not expected to be problem free…
you knew that, right?

you should be neither surprised nor infuriated by any problem you
discover…instead, you should submit a bug report… see
http://en.opensuse.org/Submitting_Bug_Reports

however, having had the chance to see all the repos you have enabled
the most probably reason for this particular infuriating episode is
not a bug, but rather you electing to install from potentially
conflicting sources…

i suggest you read under the section beginning with “Repositories -
openSUSE-Community” in posting #5 of this thread to help you begin to
regain control of your system: http://tinyurl.com/ycgm2bx

Have a lot of fun…

I’m aware of the inherent issues associated with going with bleeding edge software, but I’m allowed to be frustrated when things aren’t working their best. Your little speech wasn’t appreciated, the advice was. Lets just keep it to that.

@caf4926.
thanx for the info but sadly I’m getting the same error with yast.

On a side note SuSEconfig doesnt work either. It claims the files for it are missing. Doubt the two are related though.

                  Any more ideas?
                   Thanks guys.

Try taking out the QT repo and do zypper dup
