Issue with folder view after install

I just installed Leap on my desktop after running Fedora 21 in the past with KDE4, I am using the same home directory as I was with KDE4 now on Leap KDE Plasma 5. On the Fedora system I used Folder View rather than Desktop View. Now when I switch to Folder View in Leap instead of just having a Home and Trash showing up I have all my folders and files in my home directory showing on the screen. I just need to go back to how it was so that initially I have my Home and Trash icons showing and I can then add to the desktop the icons I want for a few programs.

Now I realise this is something I have or have not done during the install but I am at a loss for now as to what it might be. Can anyone please suggest what needs doing?

Right-click on an empty place on the desktop (or left-click on the toolbox icon in the upper-left corner) and choose “Folder View Settings”.
You can configure there what folder should be shown.

By default it should be set to “Show desktop folder”, which means it displays the desktop folder set in “Configure Desktop”->Applications->Paths.
So maybe this is set to your home instead of ~/Desktop/ or whatever.

This all is still exactly the same as in KDE4 btw…

Thanks for the pointer, yes the location got messed up probably because the home partition had data copied from the live one on Fedora 21 just in case I screwed up the install!!! Some of these things you never look at because they work – normally!!
