ISO / DVD applience

I wonder, how that by using the ISO / DVD Live I can really
install the OS on one of my HDD partitions. Or I always have to give
first boot the ISO and then mount the partitions?

How else would you install openSUSE unless you boot the CD? The install process is based on running a Linux installer. Just copying files from the CD onto the partition won’t work.

With the openSUSE builds, there’s a utility that does an installation
from ISO media built in Studio, as I recall. I haven’t seen that on SLE
builds, though.

Notes to LiveCD/DVD
SUSE Studio supports the creation of custom bootable CDs and DVDs.
Optionally, these discs can support installation from the live media to the hard drive as well.
Most operating systems make disc burning easy. Once you have downloaded the file completely, simply right-click on the file and select something like “burn ISO file to disc”.

You have to install the proper package - yast2-live-installer IIRC.

Did you include the yast2-live-installer package? If you did, you need
to boot the live CD and then there should be a program (I think on the
desktop) to run to do the installation. The installation option doesn’t
show up on the boot menu, it’s after the system has booted.
