ISO Download Issues?

Is anyone else having issues downloading the 11.2 DVD ISO from within the U.S.? Regardless of what mirror I choose, the 4.x Gb ISO is coming down as a 384+ Mb file. The checksum is incorrect, and it’s non-installable. I’ve noticed it since yesterday afternoon. I am going through a network proxy, and I’m trying to see if the problem is related to the proxy.

No issues that I’m aware of

Are you downloading using Windoze? Someone told me about something similar to this. He was downloading a big file using Windoze and it was not downloading the full file. I suggested to him to try with Linux and he got it.

Possibly you have a deficient download client that’s seeing a 4GB+384MB file as a 384MB file, i.e. 32-bit wraparound.

I have never had any trouble in the US with windows.

You using IE 32bit. Seems there is a 4gig limit (32bit) size of the file. Try another browser.

Strange stuff. It’s the proxy. If I use the proxy I see:

rgoddard@rgoddard-laptop:~/Isos/OpenSuSE_11$ wget http://mirrors2.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/11.2/iso/openSUSE-11.2-DVD-x86_64.iso

If I bypass the proxy I see:

rgoddard@rgoddard-laptop:~$ wget http://mirrors2.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/11.2/iso/openSUSE-11.2-DVD-x86_64.iso

So, it’s definitely the proxy. I’ll have to chat with our network management team to see what’s up.

Yes, looks like a 32-bit file size limitation in the proxy. You’ll want to bypass the proxy anyway, proxies don’t usually cache files that big because of the low benefit ratio.

This is interesting - looks like the equivalent of Y2K

the same warning comes in windows internet explorer also.it warns it cannot download larger than 4Gb file.
