Is there text base style(UI) ??

Hi!

openSUSE forum have two styles, ‘default’ and ‘basic’. Both styles use Ajax, like popup-window and popup-menu.

Is there text base interface(style)??

Ajax style is hard to use for person with impaired vision. Because they use text reading softwear, it can’t read a text on popup type menus/windows.

There are text based styles available for vBulletin, but we choose not to
implement them because they have to be manually updated with each
vBulletin update because they are custom styles. If you really want a
text based view of the forums, click on the “Archive” link in the footer:

Hi Kim
That only works for the main page and list of threads, then when you
select a thread it drops back to the default view?

Yes, that’s the way it works.

Ahh ok.

@HiroKws, what about using a text based browser. Links is a good one
and is on the standard distribution.

thx everyone!

I have good eye-sight, so I can use this forum easily.

One Japanese guy with impaired vision, he want to be moderator for our new Japanese forum on openSUSE forum(in progress  ).

He said ‘Orca+KTTS’ for english, but they couldn’t read Japanese. Then he used Windows’ soft for Japanese.
He said “Orca work smoothly on openSUSE, also braille(raised letters) display system work without a driver soft. openSUSE is useful distoribution, so I hope Japanese people use more. Let’s them know that a disabled person, like me, use openSUSE, it is good promotion”

Only enthusiasm is able to distribute anything. I don’t want to refuse him by his handicap. I seek more possibility with him to way of full access for openSUSE .
