Is there anything special about the dark knight dvd?

It won’t play in xine running on 11.1, KDE 3.

I have the packman xine packages installed, and every other DVD I have played, works flawlessly. But this DVD locks up xine and slows my system to a crawl.

There is nothing wrong with the DVD, plays on Windows, on the same computer, and on my DVD player.

I started up xine via the command line and here is the output:

Any suggestions?

Have you tried vlc or mplayer yet? There might be some issue with the dvd that does not affect other players.

mplayer didn’t work either, should have mentioned that. Sorry.

I have never heard of vlc before. I installed it and it seems to work fine.

I wonder if it is worth reporting to the xine team?

Thanks

I had a similar problem with a DVD (Region 1) and it turned out to be a damaged DVD as it would not play on any Computer, other than through VLC
