Is There a Way to Make Desktop Icons Smaller

Servus,

I have just enabled “allow desktop icons” in tweak; but the icons are really big. Is there a way to make them smaller? Also, is there a way to add a delete option to the context menu, so I can bypass trash altogether?

Thanks

You should explicitly tell us which desktop environment you’re using to save us from guessing.

Hi
Open ‘Files’ aka Nautilus, then on the top bar click on Files and select preferences, then under Icon View Defaults -> Default zoom level select ‘small’ in the dropdown.

Hi
A GNOME user

@Grace123, suggest you add that information to your user signature under the forum user Settings.

I had actually guessed that  but good practice to mention explicitly so that others do not assume incorrectly…

Excellent Idea, Thanks

BTW, the fix works great.

Hi, in Nautilus select the files to delete, then Capital+Delete will delete them bypassing the Trash.

Thanks, that works.
