Is there a problem with update system?

March 12 2012 10:20 AM MST running zypper update I get error on apparently every single .drpm file. Example:

178 packages to upgrade, 1 new.
Overall download size: 344.5 MiB. After the operation, additional 762.0 KiB will be used.

I have tried several sources with exactly same problem (I removed the protocol:// part of the URLs because the BBS keeps rewriting them):

download.opensuse.org/update/11.4
opensuse.cs.utah.edu/update/11.4
ftp.uni-ulm.de/mirrors/opensuse/update/11.4

The strange thing is that I can see the files in question on the mirrors using a web browser.

Any suggestions appreciated!

You can probably get more details looking at the log.
/var/log/zypper.log

Use code tags to post code and you will not have problems.

verify the proxy configuration.

/etc/sysconfig/proxy

It’s not the original poster; I observed the same behavior on an 11.4 virtual machine.

Well, unless you add something different to what he said, I have to ask the
same thing from you that I told him.

So… what did you find?

I checked your suggestions, everything was square. I was having the problem with a machine at work… so I ssh’d to a machine at home also running OpenSUSE 11.4 and found same problem there.

Today the same update works. It’s a mystery to me.

Once again, I agree. lol! It was obviously nothing on our end if it was happening on multiple machines including a stock install on a VM. The problem appears to have resolved itself, and might have to do with the internal changes taking place that also caused the unsigned repo problem a few weeks ago.
