Is some aggressive CPU power-saving active during screen-lock?

Hi!

I am observing an awkward effect: When I am running a longer running computation task that usually takes about 20 minutes while I am at the machine that when I go afk and the screen lock kicks in that when I come back after 30 minutes, the task is still not completed. Is there some aggressive power-saving triggered when the screen-locking is kicking in? Something like powering down cores or setting the CPU to a very low frequency? Is that known? Where can I start looking for that? This is on Tumbleweed 20200816. The machine was not in any kind of suspend mode - at least as soon as I touched a key, I could unlock the screen.

Tilman

I don’t really know the answer. However, when using Gnome and/or GDM I have seen “autofs” being shutdown.
