Is openSUSE 10.3 SP3?

Hi

I am trying to install IBM Rational ClearCase v7.0.1 on openSuSE 10.3. IBM says support Initial, SP1, SP2. I am not sure if 10.3 is sp3 or something like that.

Thanks
Jirong

SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server 10

Initial
SP1
SP2 Requires 7.0.0.0_IFIX02 or later

SP1 support on zSeries requires 7.0.0.1_IFIX03

CCLT not supported on zSeries, pSeries or iSeries

31/32 bit zSeries no longer supported as of ClearCase 7.0.1 (only 64 bit supported)

SP2 support requires 7.0.0.3, 7.0.1.2 or later

Hi
OpenSUSE 10.3 isn’t SLES 10, you are trying to install on the incorrect
operating system. SLES/SLED was built around the openSUSE 10.1 release.

Thanks for reply.

So you mean OpenSUSE 10.3 is too new for my installation, so probably not supported?

Hi
Not sure what the prerequisites are, it may require the features of the
SLE kernel, libraries etc. You could have a look at the script that
runs and see if you can trick the version check.

But at the end of they day, it appears you need to install SLES 10 SP2,
if it’s only a test, then I would look at downloading an evaluation
version of SLES.

You are mixing apples with oranges. Enterprise Server is a product; openSUSE is a community project. ES is supported by Novell; openSUSE is not supported in the same sense, although assistance is available from volunteers such as on this forum. ES will have packages and setups for running a, well, enterprise server; openSUSE will have some but not all of that software and is not set up out-of-the-box to be used as a business server.
