Is Myrlyn an official package manager GUI now? What about its icon?

I may be a bit naive. But I understand what YaST stands for “Yet another Setup Tool”. I do not understand it’s symbol (icon if you wish so), which is an Aardvark. Many ??? about the connection, but that maybe because I am missing some cultural hints.

Now we have something new that I understand will replace the YaST software modules. The name is Myrlyn. Is this a mnemonic? Again I may miss some cultural (English, American, computer freaks) hints, but please there are openSUSE users all over the world, so explain. Of course the icon this is all about shows an old man with a large hat. What is the connection? Or is the connection as loose as my understanding of the Aardvark?

Edit: The icon may try to represent the subject of Most elderly openSUSE user? - #54 by windl
