Is my vmware image 3d accelerated? seems like ut but not sure.

So I have an openSUSE 12.1 host and a 11.4 guest on my laptop.

3d acceleration for both intel hd 3000 and nvidia optimus gt525 is setup and working for me.

In my virtual machine if I run glxgears it runs fine and actually gives me higher fps than when running natively (really strange! s/w rendering?), I also can’t seem to be able to enable desktop effects in the VM - why is this?

but glxinfo returns the following:

Not me…

Well anyway - it was using software rendering, because Xorg went to 100% CPU usage the moment I started glxgears and the framerate was 5x the framerate of what my intel GFX normally gives.

After powering it up in Virtualbox and reinstalling the additions I got the glxgears to use proper h/w acceleration.
