Is "Error.Failed: User of caller and user of subject differs" still an unresolved bug?

Hi,

i am new to this forum and pretty new to OpenSuse. So, please be forgiving if my question has been answered somewhere I did not see. I have OpenSuse 42.1 Leap LXDE.

Problem:

Besides root there are 2 users; one user logs in without problem, the other gets after login “GDBus.Error: org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: User of caller and user of subject differs.”

Despite this warning, everthing seems to be ok. Should I be worried?

Please not that I am not expert enough to understand what this means.

P.S. Apparently this is an old bug
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=994961](http://GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: User of caller and user of subject differs.)
not resolved yet?

Thanks,

susecub

Hi welcome,

How did you create the second user?

Thank you! I did Yast > User and group management

Strange: In between, I deleted the first user, including his home directory, recreated him anew, and still there is not this error warning.

**Correction:
***** 1 ***
if User1 is the first to log in after a fresh computer start, it is ok; then, if he logs out and User2 logs in, User2 will get the error message
*** 2 ***
if User2 is the first to log in, it is ok; then, if he logs out and User1 logs in, User1 will get the error message

So, the error is not user specific but system specific

From what I can find through google, this looks like an LXDE/LXQT issue.
