Doing a zypper dup on KDE/Tumbleweed this morning is failing to access any repos. So is this a scheduled outage or a problem?
Stuart
Thanks, that’s what I saw. I just wondered if I’d missed an update about a scheduled outage. So it looks like an unscheduled one then.
Stuart
I have no idea when “morning” is at your place, but about three hours ago I did updates on 3 systems without problems.
But when I try now, there is a problem.
I am in the UK and have updated my profile location to show that. I’ll try later today to see if it has been sorted.
Stuart
But we can not see that in your post.
I think that’s a failure of the new forum, it would be useful to show that by default, I’m sure you used to be able to see that in the old one.
Stuart
Oh yes, it was.
I understand it is difficult to get used to the new software of the forums. I also have my objections
I use another forum based on discourse and my location shows up on the popup when my icon/avatar is touched so it is possible to have this.
Stuart
Maybe, but I am reading about a problem/question, why shouldn’t the needed data not be in the question text and should I have to hover, click or whatever somewhere else (what I be known to me or not)? Ignoring the whole thing is easier
I agree it should not be necessary. However i feel that information like this should be visible without any need to hover. Also i didn’t think my location was relevant, i was simply asking if the site was down for others, if not then i had a problem to fix.
Stuart
I guessed that you wanted to know if the site was down at that moment in time. However I tend to valuate all bits of information and then ask if anything is not 1000% clear. This because being unprecise in computer affairs leads to much confusion and bad advice on problems.
Call it pedantic when you want and I will admit.
Any update on this issues? 129721
During installation still error on connection with download.opensuse.org and codecs.opensuse.org.
Not as yet. Follow the ticket for now…
I updated Leap 15.4 approximately two hours ago without any error. Ping works too (both IPv4 and IPv6).
Yes, working for me as well now.
It’s late here now I’ll do mine tomorrow.
Stuart
seems like tumbleweed is having issues now
Tumbleweed on infamous host erlangen upgrades like a charm:
erlangen:~ # zypper -n dup -D
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Warning: You are about to do a distribution upgrade with all enabled repositories. Make sure these repositories are compatible before you continue. See 'man zypper' for more information about this command.
Computing distribution upgrade...
Nothing to do.
erlangen:~ #
I’ve updating various TW, 15.5 and 15.4 installations almost continuously for the past 12 hours or so, with no observed hiccups or pauses of any kind.
