irect rendering is disabled, most likely your OpenGL drivers haven't been installed correctly

Hello,

Wasn’t sure if i should post this in Wine zone or here, but i think it’s an NVidia issue. I installed 12.3, NVidia 310. Everything works, now i installed Wine i tried to start a game (WOW in this case) and i got the following error.

fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x196ed28,0x00000000), stub!
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission denied).

Re-checked everything and all is installed ok, did all the tests, everything works. So seeing that “Permission denied” error everywhere i started the game from root. It worked. So i changed the permissions on /dev/nvidiactl and /dev/nvidia0, now i can start it normally from my user account. Problem is that everytime i restart those 2 files are recreeated i think, the permissions are redone and are again root and root. Any ideeas on how i can fix this ?

The yast install of NVidia went ok but xorg crashed so i dl’ed the driver from their website and ran it from a terminal (in su mode). I did reinstall it again after figuring out the problem but the same thing occurs. It dosn’t seem to be Wine related, but somehow to the installer of Nvidia, or something else about OpenSuse.

Any ideeas ?

Hello,

Please mark this as solved. It seems that it’s OpenSuse’s fault, not automatically adding my account to group video. I added myself manually and everything went ok. It’s strange, i know it used to do this in all previous versions.
