I have been using this wifi adapter in 10.3 without any issues but I can’t get it to work on a WEP encrypted network with hidden ESSID in 11.2.
I have a WAP network at home which is no problem for this adapter, also unencrypted is playing nice but the WEP encrypted network here at work is just not playing par.
Trying ndiswrapper with the windows driver crashes the system.
The ipw2200 kernel module itself does not seem to have any obvious issues aside the fact I can’t use it with WEP.
> lsmod | grep ipw2200
ipw2200 193868 0
libipw 46384 1 ipw2200
I tried with and without KNetworkManager. Still no go.
Using KNetworkManager I can not see the network ( Might be expected, as it is hidden ) but the strange thing is that when I choose “eth1, Create Network Connection …” I see the network I have configured as “insecure” even though I configured it as WEP encrypted.
Does any one know what is going on here with KNetworkManager’s display of the “Security” column ?
Then clicking on the configured network does not bring any response whatsoever.

I hope this is enough detail to help solve the puzzle.
BTW, I am using the 32 bit version of 11.2
