Hi just joined the board.
Been using Ubuntu for a year and decided to give OpenSuse 11.0 a try.
Just installed OS11 on an old desktop PC as a dual boot setup with XP Pro, everything went in fine so far. Just learning and testing it out.
Anyways there is a lag in my browsers Firefox3, Konqueror and Opera9.52. I did the fix in FF where you put ‘about config’ in the address bar and toggle ‘the network.dns.disableIPv6; default boolean false’ line from “false”, to “true” and FF is much faster now however Opera is still slow.
Does someone have the correct code in Terminal for disabling IPv6 globally?
When disabling IPv6 globally in Ubuntu, Opera took off and I assume the same will happen in OpenSuse.
Thanks.

Just for the record - if IPV6 is enabled and no name server for the
IPV6 network is available, EVERY name server lookup has to wait for
the IPV6 request to time out. That makes it really slow, as you found out.
