iPod Shuffle Amarok Problem

Running Suse11 and Amarok 1.4.9.1.

Trying to load my iPod shuffle, 1GB, 2nd generation. I have tried restoring to factory settings and setting disk mode several time.

Amarok transfers songs to the iPod. I disconnect. The light turns green. I remove the iPod from the cradle and press play. I then get alternating green and amber flashing light. This seems to mean there is no music on the iPod.

Is my iPod dead or am I doing this wrong?

Odd rule, you can only edit a post within 10 minutes. Seems like it would create more threads than needed.

Oh well.

I may have fixed it by removing all the music, setting the correct model, disconnecting, resetting the iPod and finally reloading music.

I will keep an ear on it. Hopefully that did the trick.

Moving from Hardware to Multimedia forum.

Nope. Got up this morning and am getting the flashing green/amber lights again. I’m about ready to throw this thing!

Mine did something weird like that once but I have a nano. What I did was put it back into a windows pc, deleted everything off of it, and then went back to linux. Now it works fine.

Yeah, I’ve done that three times now. It works for awhile then stops. I think I may have a dead shuffle. :frowning:

I have an iPod shuffle. Do I have to do anything to Amarok to make it detect the shuffle? Amarok pops up the “Configure Media Device” whenever I try to connect to it but it doesn’t seem to like whatever I put in there. In fact it does nothing!

What am I doing wrong?
