iPod not mnt'd/visible in filemgr, IS in "dmesg | grep usb"

Anyone know what’s going on? When I open a file manager I can’t see my iPod and programs that normally see it can’t either. However, when i execute the command: “dmesg | grep usb” I get:

usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3

Why isn’t it showing up normally or mounting? Why can’t I mount it? (Or at least find a place to do that)

NOTE: This is an iPod TOUCH. My regular iPod actually mounts perfectly fine.

I have this issue with my mini too. I can not mount it. Gtkpod does not load it…

the permissions for the folder where is supposed to be mounted

linux-m1nk:/media # ls -l
skupno 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 dec 3 10:44 .hal-mtab
-rw------- 1 root root 0 dec 3 10:37 .hal-mtab-lock
drwxrwxr-x 2 parovelb IPOD 4096 dec 3 08:49 IPOD

and the respond of gtkpod

Error initialising iPod: Problem creating iPod directory or file: '/media/IPOD/iPod_Control'.

problem solved by itself

simply firs view it with dolphin (when asked to) and then use gtk pod. is this clever or what.

It’s solved for you but not for me. The iPod Touch and iPhone apparently do not work as USB mass storage devices. Pretty annoying.
