What do i need to connect a Ipad gen4 64GB in openSUSE?
Is it already possible?

Yesterday i was trying to connect this one on openSUSE 12.1 64bits
but he didn’t show up in KDE dolphin or gtkpod.

iOS5? gtkpod iPod Manager check the “Status of Supported Hardware” part for gtkpod.

I believe (not sure, cannot check this now) it’s iOS6
i just want to connect it like usbmass so that i can use it in gwenview (kippiplugin) & dolphin

I found libimobiledevice, but it’s not clear to me if the Ipad gen4 is support in the Development/Unstable Release: 1.1.4
libimobiledevice - Teaching Penguins to talk to fruits

Is there a way in the iPad settings to set it as a mass storage device? Check the output of dmesg when you plug the device in, what does it see?

I don’t think Ipad is able to set it in usb mass >:)
the problem is that’s the ipad not mine, it’s not in my hands.
yesterday i did “ifuse /media/ipad” and the error was something “not supported device”

It was openSUSE 12.1 64 bits @ KDE 4.8.5 (without libimobiledevice)

When you get the chance, dmesg output would help. Or did you connect to your local machine, if so some info should be in /var/log/messages or other logs (fgrep <some_log_file> iPad).
