IP Address

Hey Guys im new with this disto of Linux i usually use ubuntu. Anyways how can i find the ip address?

im using opensuse 11.1

One way would be to open a terminal window and run

ifconfig

You may need root privileges to run it.

sudo: ipconfig: command not found

its “ip address”

It’s not ipconfig (that’s Windows).

It’s ifconfig (notice the ‘f’)

type in console: ip addr

Thanks for the help everyone!

And for non-command-line users, right-click on the NetworkManager icon in
the notification area (has two little computer things for its icon) and
click ‘Connection Information’.

Good luck.
