Dear All,
After downloading the DVD and during install, I am getting an “Invalid Signature Error”. Any insights?
Thanks
Larry
I’m going to guess that it’s a bad image or badly burned dvd.
Have a look in OldCPU’s guide for installing opensuse 11.1.
Take a note of the downloading and burning instructions. The bit about burning at the slowest setting possible and checking the md5-sum before burning is crucial. This creates the best dvd images and will hopefully result in a good install without errors.
Let us know if it helped.
Dear All,
The DVD Immage is good, I installed it at work and it worked fine. One thing I noticed during install was a “Linux install menu” instead of the OpenSUSE 11.1 menu when the DVD booted. When I tried the install, a “invalid signature” error ocurred. Any insights?
Thanks
Larry
System date it was - I had the same problem with an old Dell Inspiron 4000 I dug up out of the closet. The battery died many years ago and of course Dell stopped making replacements even earlier. The system date had defaulted back to 2002, and did everytime I unplugged the thing. “Invalid Signature” every time I tried to install. But after setting the system date to today, the installation ran smoothly.
Now I have three installation DVDs, as my first assumption was that there had been a DVD-burning problem… lol!
